Ep. 698 – Oops! All Drafts

Oops! All Drafts! We had to do it folks, it was a bad and busy week all the way around for all of us so we needed something easy that would we would really enjoy – so we asked our discord channel to step up and they certainly did! We whittled down a TON of suggestions to a list to a few choice selections that sounded fun and set to burning through them. AND to make things better, we had on Captain Gun Nerd Jon Turley to round them all out so no d4 can end the show prematurely. So hang out with us for awhile, won’t you?

Ep. 697 – Vortex

Vortex! Does it sound cool? Sorta! (In a 90s way) Was it fun? Define fun! Did it have an interesting history? Absolutely! The Randomizer dealt us an odd one with week with Vortex, a game none of us had heard of or seen. It was interesting and certainly has a place in the history of video games, along with it’s creator. So in addition to all things Vortex, we talk about Uno, Mario Party, and lots of anime – of course, there is also a draft! So please, come sit awhile and listen to Vortex.

Ep. 696 – Williams Arcade’s Greatest Hits

Williams Arcade’s Greatest Hits! That’s right, we’re back to form this week with the Randomizer’s choice of this collection of classic arcade games from the 80s. It’s another special day – as of this recording TADPOG is officially 10 years old! We celebrate with a draft, a special gift for Ian, and a long anime discussion. But don’t worry, we delve into each of these games on this collection (we even have an entirely different episode on Joust alone). So come sit awhile, and listen to latest episode on our now 10 year journey.

Ep. 695 – Bathroom PB&J vs The World – Session Eighteen (A D&D Actual Play)

Bathroom PB&J vs The World! The band returns again after saving Jill from the Glow. Things get mild between Lem and Jill, Papa Barnes gets involved and tells an interesting story, Benji schemes and schemes and might have bitten off a little more than he can chew if he doesn’t hold up his part of a very special bargain, and the band goes to see Bluegrass Man at The Silver Saddle Saloon and meet a character of very special importance (also important to the universe of Tyler’s interconnected D&D games). Come sit awhile and listen! Bathroom PB&J!

Ep. 694 – Panic at the Quiznos vs The World – Session Seventeen (A D&D Actual Play)

Panic at the Quiznos vs. The World! We return again this with the further adventures of the band. This time, the band goes all out to free Jill’s mind of the Glow. They face her greatest fears – Gargamel, Foot Soldiers, Krang, Murky, and a few more in this one (Jill watched a lot of TV and played a lot of NES in the late Eighties and Nineties) so tune in to see what other troubles the band has as they storm Dr. Claw’s castle that contains the pieces of Glow that need to be destroyed. This one ends with a big boom!

Ep. 693 – Pixelated Noodle – Session Sixteen (A D&D Actual Play)

Pixelated Noodle vs. The World! A Scott Pilgrim inspired game returns again to further the adventure of saving the soul of a cute pink haired girl who works at Quiznos in the early 2000s. Or at least that is what this episode is about. The band opened a gate into Jill’s subspace and ventured in to find the Glow and remove it. Things get underway quick as Lem, Kenny, Liz, and Benji see some of Jill’s memories and keep a peek at the world she grew up in. A lot of memories of what she enjoyed when she was little pop up and turn against the band, but they have some creative ways of dealing with it all. Come sit awhile and listen!

Ep. 692 – Hot Bread Patent vs. The World – Session Fifteen (A D&D Actual Play)

Hot Bread Patent vs. The World! That’s right, we have returned with our Actual Play 5e D&D game inspired by Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. If you don’t recall, on the last episode a few months ago the band had gotten into Lem’s brother’s subspace and purged it of “The Glow” which has been making him act against his wishes. This gave them access to few very important memories that told the band quite a bit about Lem’s father. Now they are planning for the arrival of the Black Wolf and if they need to roll the dice and purge The Glow from Jill, Lem’s crush. It was good to be back to gaming again and we hope you enjoy the return!

Ep. 691 – Beethoven: The Ultimate Canine Caper

Beethoven: The Ultimate Canine Caper has finally dragged its butt across the our proverbial podcast carpet. Maybe you know this game as Beethoven’s 2nd or maybe you don’t know this game at all – let’s be honest, you probably don’t. Is that a good thing? MAAAAAYYYYYBE. You will find out for certain if you listen to this episode. Do you like Christmas movies? We do a draft of Christmas movies. We talk about all the old bits that are stored in the back of the Hollanddeck. The boys played some Pokemon, some Miles Morales, and watched some standup. There may be a lot to unpack here so sit awhile and listen!
