Ep. 781 – “Outlander” for the SNES or “Mad Max 2: Legally Distinct Edition”

Outlander. So here is the thing, this is the Mad Max 2 game for SNES. Why isn’t it called Mad Max? Reasons. Outlander. Licensing. All that jazz. The important part is that there was a Max Max 2: The Road Warrior for SNES but it ended up being called Outlander. Of course there are tons of other things called Outlander. So many other things I would have rather this game been called Crazy Carl or Nutty Nathaniel. ANYWAY. We get to talk about Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior! And also the stuff about this game. So please, sit awhile and listen us review and an amazing movie and a game that falls all over the spectrum for us! Outlander. There is also a draft. You like drafts, right? We do. We hope you do too.

Ep. 780 – The Rocketeer

The Rocketeer figuratively rockets onto TADPOG shores (and directly into into a garbage can that we keep there). We continue our long running series yet again where we watch the movie and play the game. We take a deep dive into this movie for a nice little review and then hop skip and jump onto the straight up dumpster fire that is the game. Really, we don’t even want to be coy with this like maybe we liked or maybe we didn’t and you’ll have to tune in and see. This game blows goats. It’s truly terrible. But come sit and while and let us tell you why! The Rocketeer!

Ep. 777 – Batman Returns

Batman Returns! Seriously, we’ve done Batman games before and now we are doing another one so he’s totally returning. But its better than that, it’s all the second and final Tim Burton Batman movie! We are pretty ready to talk about this one so we cut to the chase pretty quickly with plenty of talk about the movie in depth then have quite a bit to say about the game. We also have Uncrustables. COME SIT AWHILE AND LISTEN!

Ep. 773 – The Mask

The Mask, that means someone better stop us. You get it. The joke was smokin’. Get it? I’m throwing jokes at you like spicy meatballs. GET IT?! We watched the movie AND played the game yet again as part of our mini randomizer of authentic and high quality SNES movie games. This movie holds a special childhood place in all our hearts, so listen to us revisit it and review it then discuss how the game compares. We do a blind draft, Ian’s Mercari fiasco, and more. So please come sit awhile and listen to try to pull the Norse god Loki out of green mask in The Mask!

Ep. 771 – Cutthroat Island

Cutthroat Island does a nose dive, really, a straight multi-million dollar tanking right into our studio courtesy of Son of Randomizer – the SNES movie game randomizer. So we talk about this very special and somewhat historical movie and it not quite as special or historical SNES game. But before that we recount Ian’s movies and game news of the week, hear about Dave’s Las Vegas trip, talk about Brandon of Axelay fame, then tear into the game/movie of the week. But hey, lots of stuff here so please. Come sit awhile and listen!

Ep. 769 – Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is the latest in our SNES movie games series. So we dragged out the 1994 film alongside the game to get the full experience. Aaaand it was all quite the experience. This definitely falls into that category of, “Did the movie really need to be translated into a game?” So if you’re a fan of the film, we do quite a dive into it. If you haven’t played the game – who do you think you would control in it? If you’re a fan of anything Frankenstein, please come sit awhile and listen!

Ep. 768 – Dennis the Menace

Dennis the Menace is back! In movie and video game form. European Listeners, this is a very different Dennis the Menace and the story is pretty odd (don’t worry, we get into it). We have a very special draft that ended up being one of our favorites that we have ever done then we dive head long into the 1993 classic movie…then we pivot into the game. Let’s going ahead and put it out there that the Angry Video Game Nerd dedicated a whole episode to just this particular SNES game. So please, sit awhile and listen to us go on about the menace know as Dennis here in the United States.

Ep. 765 – Lethal Weapon

Lethal Weapon brings all its…weapons…lethally to TADPOG shores. You see Joe Pesci up there? But it says Lethal Weapon when clearly he is a character from the sequel? Are you confused? Same here. We ended up watching the first movie but the game is actually over the sequel so just know that going into this one. We do a real Girth Brooks of a Famous Duos draft, we talk about Jim Lahey, leveling Scholar, and more. So please sit awhile and listen to this episode!
