Ep. 518 – Adventures of Yogi Bear

Adventures of Yogi Bear

Let’s get this out of the way first. We do the Adventures of Yogi Bear, courtesy of the Randomizer, and i’ts about what you would expect. So, in order to enjoy our time with it – we truly get Baja Blasted and really go off the rails. We open a package from Bunny and Kira, and we do a deep dive into Hanna Barbera. Impressions are heavy, and spiked watermelon smoothies flow like the spice on Arrakis. Personally, we think this hits that “TADPOG Classic” tier. So please, enjoy and understand we know that Albert Fish was a terrible monster.

Ep. 494 – Smart Ball

Smart Ball

Hey, Jeppy! We’re talking about Smart Ball, the 1992 SNES Action-Adventure game by Game Freak. (They called it Jerry Boy in Japan, you probably know it by that name). Not only do we talk about slime boys, we open a Christmas card in March from The Piggs! We also take a moment to cast TV dads as the Seven Deadly Sins.

Ep. 484 – Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse

Castle of Illusion

OH MAN! ARE YOU GUYS READY TO GET TOTALLY BUCK WILD THIS WEEK?! You know we bring it heavy with Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (and a surprising amount of game talk). Castle of Illusion is the current game of the month over on the Retro Gaming Monthly Facebook group, and we regularly talk about their monthly selections. We figured it was the perfect time to invite Steven Michael (the creator of the RGM group and Nerdy Thursday Super Fan) on to the show to dish about the game with us. Enjoy!

Ep. 483 – Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Part 2)

Symphony of the Night

Did you really love last week’s episode of Symphony of the Night? No? TOOOOOO BAD! We are back with more talk over the game. You know we just had to bring back half of TADPOG’s Sweethearts, Josh Nance. We also brought on an entirely new guest host that has been mentioned many time – Kyle Collins of The Experience Grind Podcast! We talk about the game but also dote plenty of butts, teeth, Cooter Belmont and graboids from the Tremors franchise.

Ep. 482 – Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Part 1)

Symphony of the Night

On this episode we further our quest to play and discuss every Castlevania game, and this one is a big one. Foretold years ago by the Necromancer Shaft, TADPOG would do at least two episodes of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Many heroes stepped up to go on this journey and those chosen today are one-half of TADPOG’s Sweethearts Josh Nance and Ruby on Rails Baron Paul Clewell. We have chosen our healing potions in the form of stout beer from Kevin Link. We sharpen our blades and manage to keep on track so we can give this game its due, and we also create the hero we all deserve. Cooter Belmont. Continue reading

Ep. 475 – Rocket Knight Adventures

Rocket Knight Adventures

We strap on our homemade jet packs and join Sparkster to crush the swine army in Konami’s Rocket Knight Adventures, the 1993 platformer and scrolling shooter for the Sega Genesis. Tyler has the B-A-L-L-S to share an Epic Dollar General story, and we take a Rocket Knight Adventures themed quiz from Bovine Bear Quiz Master Matt Cowan.

Ep. 471 – Super Mario Land

Super Mario Land

Ready for a super deep dive into the nuances of the hit 1989 Gameboy titles Super Mario Land? Well, I hope you find that podcast since you’ll get a casual swim here. But if you like debates over the validity of timelines, discussion over high school colognes, and hearing about bladder pacemakers then you are home.

Ep. 470 – Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3

Wario Land

Hold on to your hats (Bull, Dragon, or Jet) because this episode is all about Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3! It’s a weird little platformer that was released by Nintendo for the Game Boy in 1994. We take some time to figure out if greed is good. We also talk about surgeries and Spider Man, and we take two quizzes. Over the course of the episode we fail to name so many things we reference.
