Kirby’s Avalanche? Yes, Kirby’s Avalanche. Didn’t we do this one? Yes, almost 10 years ago. But it was subject to a greater dispel spell and is no longer available, but anything lost from IGN’s Top 100 SNES games list, we will always re-record. It just happened to drop on the Switch SNES Online service so it was a pretty opportune time to do it again. Just for the occasion, we reunite TADPOG IT with a rare appearance by Captain Gun Nerd Jon Turley. We bring it hard with a chip draft, some drink talk, some Star Wars talk, and a deep dive into the re-skin of Puyo Puyo that Kirby’s Avalanche really is – so come sit awhile and listen!

Ep. 677 – Final Fantasy VI (World of Ruin)

Final Fantasy VI (World of Ruin) has finally come to pass. Does this episode sound a little different? Well, that may be because we are all wearing masks just to be safe from Ian’s brush with COVID but we still recorded an episode! Courtesy of the Randomizer, we decided to re-record out early episodes where we covered this game for IGN’s Top 100 SNES game. We discussed it over two episodes so we changed it up with our new formula into two again – this time with the World of Balance and the World of Ruin (essentially the front and back halves of the game). So now we get to break down the VERY different half of the game, but just as beloved as the World of Balance. Tyler and Dave break down the game while Ian acts more as an audience surrogate asking some important questions. We have our hearts in this one, so we hope you enjoy.

Thanks to Nintendo bringing literally anything Jaleco makes, at whatever discount the license comes at, to the Nintendo Switch Online platform. We have to talk about the movie Prey and many things about the Predator movies. Ian continues with journey into the dark realm of anime, Dave gives us a look into the WB Multiverse game, and Tyler discusses his streaming. And we talk quite a bit about Rival Turf!, what we think about it, and how is compares to the games it tries to emulate. Tetris 2. Did you know there was a Tetris 2? If you’re like use and didn’t there may be a pretty good reason for that. Also, this episode goes from damp to danger zone over the course of an hour and a half. We recorded this episode on the night of the tornado that destroyed part of our area. We didn’t take it too seriously until we had to take it seriously so this episode goes from chuckles, to Tetris 2 to..well…running out of the Hollanddeck as quickly as possible.
