Ep. 789 – A Nightmare on Elm Street

A Nightmare on Elm Street (with some Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and 3 sprinkled in) slashes its way into the TADPOG studios! We start of with some anime talk, some video game chat, some sampling of very expensive ham and sour candies, then we roll into strong to the movie talk on A Nightmare on Elm Street and follow it up with some equally deep talk about the NES version of the game. So if you’re a horror fan on both on the big screen and the small home screen that displays the 8 bit version of the movie as a video game then OH BOY do we have a treat for you. So please, stay awhile and listen!

Ep. 788 – Hudson Hawk

Hudson Hawk arrived on TADPOG shores…hauled to from from the lowest depths by our very own Wizened Sage Ian. All three of us sat down, spent money to rent it, and watched the 1991 Bruce Willis box office bomb (it killed a studio) and receiver of 3 Razzie awards (nominated for 5) Hudson Hawk. Of course, this has its very own very late NES release. So not only do we get the full Hawk, we play this marvel of game as well. So if you want some real Hudson Hawk double dose chat, – oh boy do we have an episode for you. So please, don’t let our pain be for nothing. Come sit awhile and listen to this episode over Hudson Hawk!

Ep. 775 – Dick Tracy

Dick Tracy agitates the gravel on his way to TADPOG shores courtesy of the fact we just felt like doing this movie/game combo. This one is a real Girth Brooks with some TV talk, Ian’s Horror Hole, the drama of Tenacious D, and the mourning of the passing of some of our favorite celebrities. We do a double barrel ten spot blind draft then dive head long into Dick Tracy from the movies and the NES. Won’t you be so kind as to stay awhile and listen?

Ep. 774 – Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Who Framed Roger Rabbit defies all trademarks and finally arrives at TADPOG shores. Not because the Mini Randomizer said so (that demi god’s domain only extends to SNES movie games) but because we just wanted to do it. We visit the Ian’s Horror Hole, discuss some new drops on Netflix, talk about some games AND WE BRING ON CAPTAIN GUN NERD JON TURLEY. We try some chocolate. We take a psychology quiz. We blind draft something….SO please come sit awhile and listen to use go on about not just the movie but also the game of Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Ep. 761 – Muppet Adventure: Chaos at the Carnival

Muppet Adventure: Chaos at the Carnival connects its rainbow to TADPOG. Remember that Muppet draft we didn’t have time to get to on our last all drafts episode? Well, we just decided to go in “whole hog” (Wokka Wokka) and not only do a Muppet (well, anything Jim Henson) draft but we did the only applicable Muppet video game Tyler could find in a 2 minute Google search, this little gem for the NES. So please, come listen to a menagerie of Jim Henson creation content this week with Muppet Adventure: Chaos at the Carnival!

Ep. 751 – The Karate Kid

The Karate Kid kicks through the nostalgia wall directly in TADPOG studio. We all watched, or re-watched, the original so we could get into the proper mindset to play and review this NES game. So we talk plenty about the ins and outs of the movie (and dip our toe into the rest of the series) before we get started grinding down into the nitty gritty of the game. We do a draft. We talk a few movies but we really do spend a lot of time on the subject matter. So please sit awhile and listen!

Ep. 750 – Top Gun

Top Gun flies into TADPOG studios! Does it safely land to proper fanfare? Or does it do a nosedive into the water right before the carrier like 99% of all landing attempts the general population did attempting to play this game? We discuss The Boys, Fargo, Final Fantasy VI, and even do a particular draft of insufferable jerks (we do use different verbiage though). So come here us do a deep dive into Top Gun, the movie, Top Gun: Maverick, and both the NES games – Top Gun and Top Gun: The Second Mission. So come, please sit awhile and listen.

Ep. 749 – Drac’s Night Out

Drac’s Night Out is here and we are PUMPED! Get it? Because the game is sponsored by Reebok Pumps. Because Dracula needs those. But really, he does in this game. He’s like a reverse vampire where touching people kills him. We know this one sounds a little different (we do address is right away) but Tyler has finally succumb to COVID and needed to record remotely. We didn’t want to miss another week of telling you guys about Drac’s Night Out. So we do a Vampire draft, talk about vampires, and finally do a deep dive into this unreleased NES game game. So please just sit awhile and listen to Drac’s Night Out.
